APRIL SHOWERS, MAY FLOWERSBrian Truta had a wedding to attend this weekend, so I got to stand in for him at Jack Miller Kia. Everyone who took a test drive got free gasoline and flowers from Lowe's. We also handed out free passes to our pre-screening of the new "Speed Racer" movie at the Legends 14 Theater, it's the latest from the creators of the Matrix trilogy. Gotta love Kia, with up to 34 miles to the gallon and that huge 100,000 mile warranty!

ENTER SANDSTONE
It's been around since 1984. Years ago, I saw Pearl Jam perform here for one explosive 4th of July party. Backstage during Lollapalooza, I drank tea here with British band the Prodigy, as we watched James perform "Laid." Afterward, Snoop Dogg showed up in an armored car. So much history! And at a press conference I attended today, important men in expensive suits unveiled a few tweaks for the next chapter of Bonnor Springs' historic outdoor venue. First, there's the new name:
Capitol Federal Park @ Sandstone. Then, there is the fresh batch of concerts they've announced so far: Snoop Dogg & 311, Jack Johnson, Slipknot & Disturbed, the Vans Warped Tour. I heard whispers of a few other bands they're planning to announce in the near future. Fitting that they should share all this on Earth Day, given the revamped nature-friendly walkways, stage plazas, concession areas and seating. Hey, nothing like savoring good music while surrounded by trees! Click

FIVE HUNDRED IN CA$H!After weeks of giving away Cougar & Cash tickets from the
Kansas Lottery on-air, I got to broadcast my Friday show from the
Islamorada Fish Company Restaurant at Olathe's Bass Pro Shop. These folks were thrilled to win five hundred dollars' cash! 29 others won free meals, lottery tickets, Bass Pro gift certificates, and even a Leg Lamp.

FLAVOR UP BREAKFAST
In April, JACK-FM teamed up with Johnsonville to give you $1 off any two packages of breakfast sausage at your local grocery store. That includes Original, Vermont Maple Syrup, Brown Sugar & Honey, or Homestyle flavors in links or patties. Having wholeheartedly endorsed Johnsonville's products for many years now, I've tried a LOT of the recipes at their WEBSITE to great success. Just check out these "Easy Sausage Roll-Ups" I made this weekend, they're simply baked in crescent rolls, sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar and served with strawberry preserves for dipping. Mmmm, Fresh like Kool and the Gang!
